Listen more-speak less. Life is an adventure-make every day count. Enrich the lives of those you meet along the way. Don't show up at the end with a wish list.
This is my philosophy in a nutshell – but there is more to me than that. This is a condensed biography of the person behind this blog.
My name is Bonnie J. Preston. I am 59 years old, a wife, mother and full-time project manager. I was born and raised in New York – just north of the city. Shortly before my 30th birthday, I moved to California, where I lived just north of Los Angeles for about twenty years. I met my husband there (he is also from New York) and we raised our son and daughter there. Just before my 50th birthday, we moved to a town just north of Dallas, TX.
Wait – I sense a pattern – I am always moving “just north” of a major metropolitan area right before a major birthday. Not sure what that means…..
My husband, son and daughter are my family. I am an only child and I lost both my parents in 1987. But I am lucky. I have many friends all over the country, and I consider them family. I am thankful for the social technology that allows me to easily stay in touch with them. Next to good health, nothing is more important than relationships. I am blessed in both areas, and am grateful every day.
The hardest question for me to answer is "what is your favorite book/movie/tv show"? So many books, films, shows....so little time.
I love to read - everything. The greatest gift my husband has ever given to me was my Sony eReader. I don't think I've stopped thanking him yet and it was two years ago. I generally keep Nora Roberts (or J.D. Robb), and Jodi Piccoult on my night stand. But I also read a great deal of non-fiction. My interests are clear if you read my blog, http://antipandemonium.com/.
I also love good films and good tv shows. I have a new favorite all the time. We don't go out to movies that often (except perhaps at Christmas - last Christmas there so many good films we were going every week!) but we have an enormous film library on DVD. If a film is good, I will watch it over and over and over. There are many films I can recite from start to finish (much to the annoyance of my family - at least one of whom can do the same thing!) I cannot chose a favorite film but my favorite actors are Katherine Hepburn (classic) and Meryl Streep (contemporary); Lawrence Olivier (classic) and Russell Crowe (contemporary).
But I have been such a fan of "The Vampire Diaries" and "The Secret Circle" that I have written posts for some popular fan sites. You can read my posts about "The Vampire Diaries" and "The Secret Circle" on this site. You can follow my tweets at Twitter at @bonniejpreston!
I use this site as a supplement to my blog. It's a space where you can come for additional information and resources.
All the best,
Bonnie
